If you want the link to the site where you can find out more about this great tool as well as download demos of the outlines, email me at t firstname.lastname@example.org . Simply type sermon helper in the subject line and I will email you the link to the website where you can find out how to get this awesome tool.
If you think you have recived this messege in error email email@example.com and you will be removed from further mailings.
There are a number of reasons why this spam is interesting. Let me enumerate them for you:
1. The email is sent on a hotmail
account. The given contact email address is an aol
account. The unsubscribe email address is a frontcourt
address. If you've read other articles on this site, you know why; this guy is violating the terms of service of his email providers, and so needs multiple addresses to ensure that after some of his accounts have been disabled, you can still get in touch with him.
2. He does not provide a link to his web address. Most likely it's hosted on a free user page on yahoo, or something like that, and he knows he's in violation of that
3. I went to google, and typed in the search term: "Sermon Helper 2.5". Here's what google said: Your search - "Sermon Helper 2.5" - did not match any documents.
That in itself should tell you something about this fly-by-night operation.
Finally, I would like to say that this piece of spam did
provide me with a good sermon illustration. Proverbs 24:19 says "Do not fret because of evildoers or be envious of the wicked; for there will be no future for the evil man." And I think this guy is probably a good example of that. We already know from past experience that it will only take a few days for his email addresses, and
his website to get shut down, and then where will he be? Remember - anything worth doing is worth doing well
and honestly, because that's the only way it will prosper in the long run.
Or...here's another one. In Matthew 23:27, Jesus tells the Pharisees they are like a graveyard: they look nice on the outside, but underneath they're just rotting flesh and maggots. Heh heh. Think about that.
Oh! Wait! Here's one more! Philippians 1:17 talks about people who "proclaim Christ out of selfish ambition rather than from pure motives."
There you go...three free sermon illustrations, and you didn't even need to buy a CD to get them!
