Question: PWND - What does it mean?

I see people in emails and message boards say that someone is PWND. What does that mean?

Answer

When someone says something like "I pwnd you", what they really mean is "I owned you", and when they mean that, what they really mean is, "I beat the ever-living snot out of you."

Where does the phrase come from? It was originally used by online gamers, and it was a way of mocking one another. If I badly defeated you in a game, I pwnd you.

Present tense of the word, of course, is just PWN. Once in awhile you'll see PWND spelled with an 'e': PWNED.

Still means the same thing.
